Hi All, I just changed the oil on my 2006 Weekender 225. 5.0 L 260 hp. The vessel has the optional? drain through the stern drain plug. I wanted to heat up the oil to flow smoothly through the drain but the SC1000 Mercrusier Tach kept reading 32 degrees F for oil temp. However, if I have my symbols right, the oil pressure is working fine. What sensor needs to be replaced to show the oil temp? Thanks

It is possible that the sensor or the gauge is defective, requiring replacement.

It is more likely that the wiring has failed or become intermittent. Start w/ the wiring.

There are probably two sensors attached to the pressurized engine oil galley, one is a switch for a low oil pressure alarm, the other is a transducer for the oil pressure gauge.
