Hi< I have a 1997 400 Sundancer....

Hi< I have a 1997 400 Sundancer. 3 weeks ago was filling up the fuel tanks and the guy at the gas station gave me the wrong hose with gas fuel instead of diesel. I pumped 3 gallons before I noticed the mistake.

Call my mechanic and told me not to fill that tank and try to burn what is left in the tank. I still have 50 gallons to burn.

The boat runs OK at 1500 rpm, if I go faster it loses power.

ShalI I top the tank with diesel or I have to burn all what is left? Is there anything that I can put in the tank?

Any ideas will be highly appreciated.

Thanks

Giangi

By all means, top off the tanks with diesel. 3 gal of gasoline will be well diluted with 300+ gal of diesel on top of it. If anything the engines may start quicker due to t he increased cetane in diesel with ≈1% gasoline in it.

I agree, wouldn't hurt to dump a couple bottles of K100 for diesel in there with it.

Top off the tank.

Do what Frank says and fill it with diesel. Although you don’t have 300 gallon tanks, approximately 160 gallons on port or 175 gallons on starboard should dilute it fine.
