1997  370 Sundancer,

Has anyone replaced there forward stateroom TV with VHS tape?   It looks like the entire closet next to it has to come apart.

thanks!

Is that tube TV / VHS player screwed to a board, with the board screwed to the cabinet enclosure from below?

It looks like those two large brass surface plates below the television may be removed to provide hand / arm access to the cavity below the TV for unscrewing the TV plate.

Please provide images and report.

Yes the TV is screwed to a flat board as the mid cabin TV is. But the forward TV has no access to the screws that hold it in place. See attached drawing that Searay sent me. I just can believe the entire cabinet will have to come apart.

Thanks for the image.

Can't the brass wall plates and boxes be removed so that those openings permit hand / arm access to the cavity below the TV for unscrewing the TV?

Thanks. Why didn’t I think of that? I’ll have to check that out! Certainly will save a ton of work? Thanks again!! Hopefully the back box the light switches are mounted in are not attached to anything——. If there is a back box at all. Hope it works. It’s going to be a winter project,I’ll try to remember to let u know if it works

Forgot to write back - - - Yes it worked great. I remove the two outlets and I was able to get my hand and arm up to where the two screws were that were holding the plate that the TV was mounted too....
