Do I have to go through a local dealer in Australia for Searay genuine parts or does Searay sell direct?. I can’t seem to find anything on their website.

Welcome to the forum.
Good luck w/ your 2001 270 Sundancer.
In the US we use Flounder Pounder marine (plus other sources) for new old stock Sea Ray parts, especially for unique parts of that vintage.
As expected many parts were sourced from major manufacturers and identical or equivalent may be purchased from lots of sources.
Back in the dinosaur days I would stop at the dealership parts department, now I do everything with a click.
Uncertain about Australia.
