Could someone explain how to remove the lens etc. to access the bulb?

Dickcour, although mine are not like this. On most fixtures as such, the outer ring twists, usually counter clockwise, and comes off. You should then be able to access the guts to get to the bulb.

On mine, I just pull the outer ring away from the surface.

They have spring loaded arms to pull the fixture to the opening, like used on this similar fixture.

Thanks to both of you. I will give that a try today and post an update.

Mine has the spring loaded arms. Easy to remove fixture and replace bulb.

Glad to help. Glad for your success.

Have you found an LED fixture that fits this hole? I am trying to modify the current fixture so an LED bulb fits but if that does not work I am up for a replacement.

My lamps are 12VDC w/ G4 base.

The link I provided has a Festoon base.

What voltage and base is being sought for an LED substitute?

I replace mine with LED bulbs that I bought from Marine Beam. They work great.

Thanks for the advice. I will give the led bulb a try.
