Engine dies when throttle up

Bought 97 270 Sundancer with 7.4 Mercruiser and Bravo III few months ago. Ran OK for about 3 hours and now when I throttle up, engine dies. Had gas cleaned and checked for water and dirt, it was clean. Also replaced carburator. Filled tank with non ethanol gas. Dealer had replaced the throttle control. I'm thinking it may be an issue with the neutral safety switch adjustment, but not sure. Anyone else had this issue before?

does it have a popping noise when you tried to get it up on plane/    I recently bought a boat with a smaller eng but 2 of the spark plug wires were reversed, once that was fixed it ran great (replaced plugs too)

Have you thought about replacing the IAC ( Idle Air Control Valve)  I see it is easy to do and it may casue issues like this.  Videos online seem to indicate it is easy to do. (DIY)
