Hi everyone.  Here's a sad story.  Just bought our 2021 SPX 190 this spring and already encountered some rocks last month.  Anyway, part of the repair is to remove and reinstall the motor.  Does anyone out there have experience with how long that should take to do?  Having some disagreement with the insurance folks.  Thanks for any guidance!

Inboard/outboard motor or outboard? Do you have it at a reputable marinia/dealer for repairs or attempting the repairs yourself? The marinia/dealer should be able to negotiate with the insurance for a fair labor rate.

We had to have the engine pulled just a few weeks ago on our 2000 280 bowrider to replace the ring gear on the flywheel and it was at the mechanic/marina for 2 weeks. We thought that was really good!

Not having to remove one myself, but a discussion on the forums. Everybody was in the 2 hour to 4 hours range. Many having done more than a few. A good shop should be able to remove everything in no more than a couple of hours at the most.

We damaged our leg this summer and had to replace the transom assembly. Boat was out of the water for 6 weeks due to lack of availability of the parts (COVID, etc., etc.). If you're talking about labour time, we were quoted 10 hours to remove/replace engine and replace transom. The insurance company had no issue with it.
