How to remove the built in cooler to access the stereo in a 185BR. The built-in cooler in the 2001 185BR is a great feature but you have to be very tiny to get past it to access the rear of the stereo. I found quite a few screws all the way around the built in cooler along the outside lip/edge. I took nearly all of these screws out hoping there were no screws on the passenger side of the boat but found that was a lost cause. I then noticed the mounting support structure affixed to the bottom of the dash area and was able to use a no 2 Philips bit and 3/8 in drive to take out the 4 screws holding the cooler in. It is best if you disconnect the drain before removing the cooler. These boats are well built but making changes later down the road can be tough. Lucky for me I saw the additional 4 screws in the middle area of the cooler holding the support structure.
