I have a 1997 400 DA vdrives. Starboard transmission squats when put in and out of gear when docking. Had same issue last year and saw a couple of posts that said overfill transmission fluid and that would stop it and it did. Back this year and added a half quart and it stopped it for a while but came back next day but not quite as bad. Not losing any fluid in the bilge, no leaks. Any idea,s

When the transmission "squats" is this a visible movement when observing the engine / transmission assembly?

If so, there is something wrong big time.

There should not be any movement of the engine / transmission assembly.

Those are located and secured w/ four adjustable motor mounts, attached to reinforcement plates bolted to the stringers in the engine room.

Thanks but don’t believe so, but I will double check.

Whoops, just noticed , my post says squats rather than squeals…spell check took over for me…any additional comments due to squealing rather than squatting? Thanks all!

My engine was squelling, until I changed the Engine belt

I used some belt conditioner today, took it out, and no squealing. So hoping belts are the problem. Thanks for your reply.
