Hi, Just boat a 270 SDX 2021 OutBoard , Wondering if there is any need to purchase an extended warranty to override the 5YR Factory warranty from Sea Ray ?

The Merc warranty is platinum for first 3 years and gold the last 2. It is worth upgrading the last 2 to platinum to cover all the electronics, only $600 ish.

I have the same boat and I did what Paul suggested. I upgraded the last 2 years to platinum for the Merc.

Agree. I upgraded merc warranty to platinum on my 190 shortly after purchase.

That sounds like it is well worth it. At the boat closing they wanted me to upgrade the warranty to 8 years for an additional 6,000 which sounded high to me.
