Just purchased a 2008, 260.  Took it out and received a System Failure and audible alarm. Went to neutral and back to running.  Ran for a while and received the alarm again.

Any ideas??

Doesn't the tachometer / hour meter also include system diagnostics, page 11? Does the diagnostics show fault information?

this sounds like what happened last year with our 2006 Sundeck 240. The problem was traced to the impeller which had to be replaced. Its failure and the resulting overheating of the engine caused quite a bit of damage which, of course, had to be repaired too. I was told by the serviceman (not a SeaRay dealer) that Mercury recommends replacing the impeller every 3 years, or more often with heavy use. NOBODY at the SeaRay dealer where I've had service done on this since it was new had ever said anything about this. I had even had the boat in for service and numerous little repairs at the end of the last boating season and told them that the system failure and alarm had gone off on my way to the dealer; still no mention of the impeller! So my suggestion would be to have this checked and replaced if necessary.

Wingless, Yes it does. However it says oil pressure is low - but the pressure does not drop.

Glad to help. Hope the overheating didn't do the damage on yours that it did on mine.

Hope they remembered to reconnect the lower hose to the pump after they installed the impeller. My MM dealer forgot and I had an engine compartment of super hot water.

Replace the oil pressure sensor. The gauges are separate from the sensors and the sensors control the computer. I had to replace the water temp sensor on my 2005 220 sundeck.
