My 2008 - 205 Sport didn’t come with a depth gauge. I don’t fish so just want it for another data point when I’m on the water.

Has anyone had one installed? What brand did you go with? Do you like it? Also ball park how much did you spend?

Welcome to the forum.

My boat has a Raymarine Tri Data w/ two transducers, a paddle wheel for speed and a depth transducer for depth and temperature.

The current instrument in their line is this i50 series.

Match the brand of other electronics on the boat for maximum compatibility.

There should already be a spot near the keel in the engine room for these transducers. Select the correct transducer to "match" the slope of the hull.

I'm a DIY so properly popping a hole in the hull and doing a great installation are fun for me.

On mine I set the offset to read zero when I touch, so no math required for skinny water.

Good luck.

go with a chartplotter. that way you get charts to help with waters you may not be familiar with, as well as depth, GPS speed and a host of other information. I have been happy with my Garmin
