I would like to raise the companion bench seat in the cockpit of my 08 40DA about 3 or 4 inches so my first mate has a less-obstructed view. I would apprecste any thoughts on the best way to accomplish this. Thanks.

I removed the entire companion seat on my 2008 44DA and had a cabinet co make a 5" 'box'" out of marine grade plywood to the seat/base profile. I then had it covered by my canvas shop to match the seat. Remember to allow hand holes in the new base so as to reinstall both the base and the seat. Beautiful!

I have a 2005 40da with same problem but I found that the bow was riding too high and trim tabs did not lower it enough for good visibility. I added 6" to the tabs and the bow now runs much lower and visibility has greatly improved , also boat faster and more fuel efficient.
