I am replacing all of my electronics...

I am replacing all of my electronics on my 2008 Sundancer 55 with all New Garmin Electronics

Amazing how much wire and cable I have removed from the boat, many of which was not hooked up to anything

I have everything removed that was for the old system, plus whatever was not hooked up to anything

I can't figure out what these are for, I have looked over the wiring diagrams and just can't seem to locate them on any of the diagrams

Anybody know what these boxes are for? They are located under the dash? The stickers on the can't be read anymore, one of them does say Starboard on it

Welcome to the forum...

Sounds like a good plan.

Remember to label both ends of every wire / cable and to create a wiring diagram to aid long term maintenance.

The small open top boxes have a disc shaped part protruding. That appears to be a Metal Oxide Varistor (MOV) used to protect surges on AC power. Confusing in that the red/blue wire appears to be switched DC.

I didn't post any updates along the way, too busy in life it seems these days to even enjoy the boat as much as we should

Project turned out pretty good, still have to hook up the hydraulic hoses for auto pilot, but that's a project for winter
