Old boats are fun.  The Quicksilver generator on my 1989 440 convertible has a worn out water pump.  Can’t find a replacement or anyone who can rebuild because the housing is worn out.  Going to replace the belt driven, impeller water pump , with an electric water pump.  Has anyone done this before?  Problems?

Thanks for the info. I will keep the number for future needs. Put in the electrical pump and it appears to fix the problem, just have to be sure to crank generator before starting water pump. It does cool the engine.

I would recommend what you have as a temp solution only. Check with Depco pumps in FL. 727-446-1656 They are one of the best sources for OEM pumps that are near impossible to find.
