Has anyone replaced the gas spring strut rod that is used to prop open the galley hatch on a SeaRay 2017 Sundancer 280 SLX? Pretty sure it's this one, but not 100% sure. https://www.amazon.com/Spring-SPD-GSNI-5000-40-LGP6-100-40-Strut-Camper/dp/B07S7LYFND

The full P/N on the existing strut says: SPD-GSNI-5000-40/N06CAF0180

I'm also wondering if I should try 60lb instead of 40lb because the current one tends to fall down pretty easily, hence the reason why I'm replacing it, because I suspect it is worn out.

I replaced all the gas shock struts on my boat. Purchased on Amazon. The reason your door is sagging is the shock is losing gas. I would not replace with a higher LBS close rate than what the manufacturer had originally installed. You do not want the hinges to have additional strain as well as the screws will start to tear out the wood fastening points. Sometimes less is more...

For anyone wondering, the link I provided above on Amazon was the exact gas strut needed for the Sundancer 280 SLX. Works great once again.
