Start w/ the Owner's Manuals and the Service Manuals, for the boat, the engine and the generator.
When I did mine for the first time I made a check list to commission and to winterize. My list documented the applicable manual pages to permit quick reference.
It is very easy to forget something.
This was a living document that was improved each time when better and / or faster methods were uncovered.
