Ok, I hope I'm in the right place now.

To repeat, my port engine (350MAG MPI) will not exceed 3k. Keeps up with starboard up to 3000 and will NOT clime beyond that. ??

Great, thanks, all can provide input and assistance when posted publically.

Lots of common inspection are required. These are:
bottom clean
running gear clean
fuel pressure okay / fuel pressure regulator performing properly
flame arrestor clean
timing okay
spark plug gaps correct
distributor cap and rotor good

The first two are common problems.

On my 454 MAG MPI Horizon engines, my long term ownership permitted me to discover and correct a number of characteristic problems w/ these engines that are not documented in the Factory Service Manual (FSM). Note that the correct FSM is essential for anyone turning their own wrenches, or interested in understanding why the engine isn't operating properly.

There may also be undocumented characteristic problems on that 350 MAG MPI engine, but starting w/ the basics should be done first.

From Genny:

hanks, I think I'll pass this one off to my mechanic. I don't have the necessary diagnostic equipment.

Reply:
A mask and swimsuit are all that's required for the first two steps.

The correct Factory Service Manual (FSM) is always good reading...
