Help!!! SOS. I just purchased and almost sank a 1987 Sea Ray with Cubby Cabin. I have a leak I need to fix. I have pictures 🙂 I would greatly appreciate help in the solution of my sinking boat. I put a coat hanger thru the hole that is leaking so you can see it better. Would love to know how to fix and why I have a leak from that spot. I

Welcome to the forum.

Try to keep all the replies within one topic, to aid the process.

Remove the boat from water, instead of hoping that bilge pumps will remain ahead of water ingress, to keep the boat from sinking.

A good starting point is to identify the type and serial number of the defective part. Here is an image showing a Bravo One and the trim limit sender possibly at that location.

Once the part is identified then there are exploded parts diagrams of all the assemblies that will permit identification of the missing parts.

Note that the other image, also showing the exhaust, shows surface corrosion. An important preventative maintenance inspection is to partially disassemble that exhaust for internal corrosion. Internal exhaust corrosion can / will / has destroyed many engines.

That total engine damage is preventable.

Thank you for your response. I've been looking for a manual on the boat and haven't found what I'm looking for yet. I'm not sure what the hole is for but a buddy in the business said it was where the speedometer cable went thru originally. I'm tempted to just fill the hold with JB Weld? I appreciate your help if you have any more suggestions as this is my first boat that I have time to work on.

No joy locating an Owner's Manual for your 1987 210 Cuddy Cabin boat. Looong shot, but maybe Sea Ray can assist.

The service manuals for the engine and outdrive should be available. The parts manuals for both are online.

The engine and outdrive need the type, size and serial number to locate the appropriate documentation.

The liberal usage of JB Weld is a common solution among many boaters.

IMO a better first step is to discover what part is missing and determine the appropriate course of action.

The picture is difficult and I cant find the exact photos for your age (assuming its the original Alphas) It does appear to be in the correct location for the speedometer water tube for pitot on the front edge of the outdrive, if fitting broken or missing water is going to pee in most of the time and faster when moving if the external hoses is still in place.
This video is from a 1998 Alpha so not exactly the same as yours but look right at time 6:50 and you will see him disconnecting the water hose for the speedometer pitot tube.

The first step is to identify the engine w/ serial number and the outdrive with serial number.

That information is required to get the parts manuals for the engine and for the outdrive.

Serial #1 B748575. Where would I find the outdrive information?
