Looking to replace original Panasonic Microwave on 1986 Sea Ray Sport Fish. Anyone know how big a cavity I have to deal with when selecting a replacement?

Welcome to the forum.

Why not unscrew the existing microwave and use a tape measure to determine the cavity / opening size?

I would if I were not 185 miles from the boat currently.

Is that the microwave, below the cooktop?

Can't see all of the microwave, but the details I can see of the counter and range top looks identical to my layout.

It might be possible to estimate the size from this image.

That helps. Can you shine a flashlight in that hole 🙂

I'm thinking about swapping my microwave to an air fryer. My 2000 380DA has a microwave and a two burner cooktop. I also have a Party size Magma grill.

I was looking at a combination convection oven/microwave, but I'm concerned it wouldn't have adequate ventilation for the heat to escape. I know living without a microwave on board stinks.

I changed my microwave to this: https://www.lowes.com/pd/Samsung-PowerGrill-Duo-1-2-cu-ft-1600-Countertop-Convection-Microwave-Fingerprint-resistant-Black-Stainless-Steel/1000005984 , had to get creative with the install as it was about a half an inch taller and not as wide as the original. It vents out the bottom for the convection oven portion. As an added bonus it opens like an oven. It has a "slim fry" feature which is just Samsung's version of an Air Fryer.
