I have a 2018 Sea Ray 350 Coupe. I generally check all vitals in the engine room before and after every trip made to make sure there will be no issues when you least expect, even when its new. One issue that I have with the new 350 Coupe is that Sea Ray choose to mount the Generator with the service side facing away from the engine room making it almost impossible to get to for any service. This is important for things like checking oil, filling oil, checking coolant, resetting any fault codes on the opperator screen, and remote starting while in the engine room instead of at the control panel in the cabin. (Yes the operator screen is facing away from you and there is NO WAY to read it).
I looked at all the connections and I see NO CLEAR REASON why they mounted it that way. Yes, they put a hatch above the generator, but the hatch is so small you can't fit down and there is no room anyway. I am tall and even if I hang upside down from the hatch I could not read the screen to reset codes, start the generator, or perform any other regular maintenance. This looks like it was a Brain-Dead engineer that thought of this configuration. Maybe I am missing some reason why it must be mounted in that direction. I know the techs at Marine Max think it is stupid. This is frustrating, and I hope someone at Sea Ray reads this post.
