Hi All! I just purchased an 05 200 sport. Its my first boat ever. Low hours great inside, common outside. Finally graduated from Sea Doos. I thought i looked everything over and looked everywhere before i bought it til i got home with the new boat today and saw some cracking where the U bold attaches to the boat that is used for buoys and attaching to front of trailer. Any reason for concern here? I know some cracking is common but the only ones i see on this boat are coming from that spot. I am always a skeptic to begin with so some true assurance or feedback would be appreciated. Thanks much

Good luck w/ the new boat. It sounds very nice.

It is probably no problem. Post a clear, close-up image to permit examination of the issue.

My very strong suggestions for the new boater are to: 1) Read / study Chapman Piloting, cover to cover. This is THE Bible of Boating and has EVERYTHING you need to know. 2) Take a boating safety course. Attend w/ the family. 3) No alcohol for the operator until the boat is put away. 99% of the boating problems are alcohol-related. I'm a very experienced boater and enjoy a beer as-much as the next guy, but I always wait until the boat is secure for the night. 4) Safety First! Always, always, always assume the other boater is going to do something stupid, so be prepared and alert. 5) Never go out on 4th of July. This is boating amateur night. I'm over 50% of the time for almost being killed by drunken idiots on the 4th, so never again for me. 6) You don't have to cast off, but you do have to make it back. (Words of wisdom from my father). Don't go out if the boat isn't good or the weather isn't good. Bad things can get worse quickly.

That's my 2 cents. A bill will be submitted.

Enjoy the family time on the water. These are lifetime memories you will be building.

All good input from Wingless. Especially love the 4th of July comment. We used to be slipped in a marina that was across the river from where they did the fireworks. Always sat up on the flybridge for two shows, the first being the fireworks. The second was watching hundreds on boaters who had been anchored out all day partying and drinking trying to navigate out of the anchorage in the dark. The Marine police had their hands full.
