I’m having problem with the auto pilot on my 2003 sedan bridge 400. It is probably the rudder control sensing unit. It should be mounted on or near the rudder tie bar or a similar location. It looks to me like I will have to pull the generator to get to it.  Am I missing something?

Yes, the rudder sensor must be connected to the steering.

This image shows my 2000 380DA steering and rudder sensor.

Thanks Wineglass. I was afraid that was the case. Good excuse to clean up the rusty tray under the generator.

I just had a pro to the boat to replace the sensor. Turns out that he can easily access the rudder connection behind the battery bank on the port side. He’ll replace the unit and I’m good to go.
