280SLX GPS Upgrade

Does anyone have any recommendations for a GPS unit and placement for a 280SLX (or any SLX for that matter)?  I have been less than satisfied with the GPS included in the Dynamic Dashboard and while it's nice to have it integrated, I think I would rather keep a full time GPS up and available.

I have an SLX 280 2016, and the GPS is very basic I agree.  Mine only gives Coordinates in degrees then decimals thus having to multiply x 60 to get minutes.  The dealer is checking into a software upgrade that is suppose to be available. 
Not much of an answer, more of a comiseration. Let me know what you find out as will i.
