The Thomson Linear DM series electromechanical linear actuator the factory installed onto my 2000 380DA may be disassembled for cleaning and lubrication.
The base has a reduction gear set with grease that gets old. Cleaning and replacement w/ proper and fresh grease can help.
The "ram" is a cosmetic cover for the lead screw that may also be cleaned and greased.
