Hi All, - I posted this yesterday but realized it wasn't in The Stream Feed, so maybe it wasn't being seen by others:

Hi All, this is my first forum post - looking forward to being a part of the community.  I recently acquired a 2006 SunDeck 220.  Being a bit "vertically challenged", I'm looking for advice for replacing the stock captains chair pedestal with one that raises / lowers, ideally at least 5 inches. I'd consider a fixed-height pedestal as well. Getting a bit tired of sitting on the bolster to see over the bow...   From what I can tell, the OEM part number for the stock pedestal is 1688106 (PEDESTAL, ALUM 8.75" RIBBED W/DELCUP N/SPDR).  Thanks in advance for any suggestions!

Welcome to the forum.

There are options for the helm seat pedestal.

The desired height must first be defined to ensure the part is correct for the application.

Here is one w/ a 14" to 20" range.

Here is one w/ a 25" to 32" range.

Thanks for the links - much appreciated. Are these pretty much "universal fit" items? I wasn't sure if the bolt patterns for the base and the chair were Sea Ray specific.

YW

Determining replacement part fit and suitability for the application are your responsibility.

Measure the height range for the existing pedestal and determine the desired height for the replacement part.

Measure the existing mounting pattern to enable determination of using the existing holes for the new pedestal. I wouldn't worry if they don't match, because the existing holes would be covered and I would just fill them w/ filled West System epoxy, maybe adding fiberglass matting on the interior bottom surface, if required.

IMO, the difficult part will probably be access to fasteners below the pedestal, if required. If the existing fasteners are bolts, then reaching the nuts and washers on the bottom surface would be required.

Determining that aspect would be a good first step.

Gotcha. The boat is trailered at the marina right now, so I'll check the measurements etc... in a day or so. Thanks for the suggestions!
