Is the radio box lid on the port side below the windshield on the 190 SPX?

A quick check shows that the low end of in-stock gas shock force is 6.7 LBS. Here is one example.

If one of those gas shocks is placed at a shallow angle, with the fixed mount near the hinge, then the lift force will be more appropriate to this application.

I installed a hatch lift-spring that's intended to hold a lid open. When you open the lid, the spring becomes extended/straight and holds the lid up; to close the lid you just press lightly in the middle of the spring and it bends to allow you to close it. The spring has brackets at each end with small screw holes. It works PERFECTLY. I bought the spring at the Marinemax dealer where I bought my boat. I found something almost exactly the same on Amazon https://www.amazon.com/Stainless-Steel-Hatch-Spring-Support/dp/B00GXI4RBG/ref=pd_sim_200_2?_encoding=UTF8&pd_rd_i=B00GXI4RBG&pd_rd_r=B0YP5EMPK9KHCFZ9XXR1&pd_rd_w=FRG15&pd_rd_wg=QIwkt&psc=1&refRID=B0YP5EMPK9KHCFZ9XXR1

This is great. One of the items on my list to buy for the boat. Thanks,
